"People living with Alzheimer's and their loved ones don't have to face
the disease alone. I participate in Walk to End Alzheimer's so
families know there's support for their journey." - Grace W

Dear John,
I was just nine years old when my father was diagnosed with
younger-onset Alzheimer's. My entire family was shocked and struggled
to face the disease. I had never even heard of Alzheimer's. My father
lived to help others, but we weren't sure how to help him. I wish we'd
known at the time that the Alzheimer's Association could help us
navigate this difficult journey.
After losing my father - and then grandmother - to
Alzheimer's, I made it my mission to fight the disease that had
devastated my family and so many others. I became an Alzheimer's
Association advocate and dementia researcher, and worked tirelessly to
spread the word about the Association's valuable resources. By
participating in Walk to End Alzheimer's, I'm helping families access
the critical care and support they need, while advancing global
research.
I've taken part in Walks around the country, finding inspiration and
determination in every one. The flowers at Walk have a lot of fight in
them. Like flowers, we can't stop when something's in our way. We must
keep raising funds and awareness for a breakthrough in the fight
against Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
It's time to add your flower to the fight. Please register for Walk to
End Alzheimer's today, and urge your friends and family to join our
movement to end this disease.

Walk to End Alzheimer's
Walk to End Alzheimer's is
happening - and you can join us at your local event or Walk From
Home in your neighborhood. No matter where you participate, know that
your health and safety are our top priorities. All local events will
implement safety protocols including physical distancing, contactless
registration, hand sanitizing stations and more. Per CDC guidelines
around crowded outdoor settings, we ask that all Walk attendees be
vaccinated against COVID-19 or wear a mask when in an overcrowded
area. Masks will be available on-site. We will continue to closely
monitor CDC, state and local guidelines to ensure our event adheres to
recommendations and is safe for attendees. If you prefer to Walk From
Home, you can still engage in many Walk-day experiences through our
mobile app.
