John,
Earlier this year, Congress passed into law an expanded Child Tax Credit to deliver monthly payments to millions of American families—to support our middle class and to sharply cut child poverty.
These payments are projected to drastically cut child poverty by 45% nationwide this year. Across racial groups the reduction is even higher, particularly for Black, Hispanic, and Native American children.
The problem is this Child Tax Credit will expire at the end of the year, unless Congress makes it permanent now. Fortunately, President Biden included it as part of his American Jobs Plan and the only step left is for Congress to include it in the budget reconciliation package being negotiated right now.
Our fight now is to make the Child Tax Credit permanent and ensure no child in America grows up in poverty. Tell Congress: Make the Child Tax Credit permanent now.

In America, nearly 11 million children live in poverty. That’s 1 out of every 7 children nationwide. 37 countries have less child poverty than the U.S.
It is a disgrace that so many children live in poverty in the richest nation in the world, and it’s wrong that so many American families can barely make ends meet. But it doesn't have to be this way.
We can change this and eradicate child poverty in the U.S. The time is now. Help us permanently expand the Child Tax Credit by adding your name now.
