Hi, it's Zack Malitz, co-founder of Boot Texas Republicans.

The last month has been a difficult one for our state -- Texas became the epicenter for the reemergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Infections, hospitalizations, and deaths all hit record highs. Instead of trying to help, our governor played politics by banning mask and vaccine mandates.

Worse yet, the new abortion ban that was jammed through the Texas Legislature and approved by the Supreme Court has led to a constitutional crisis and the greatest threat to women's reproductive rights in half a century.

But we also saw signs of optimism. Democrats in the Texas House stood up for voting rights by denying Republicans a quorum in the legislature, and Governor Greg Abbott's approval ratings have reached record lows.

Most importantly, so many of you stood up to say you were ready to turn the page on Republican control of Texas. Thanks to you, we raised more than $25,000, released a new ad holding Abbott accountable, and helped direct resources to the House Democrats standing up for democracy.

We have an opportunity in 2022 to defeat Greg Abbott and wrest control of Texas away from the GOP that has been failing our state for far too long.
