Hi, I hope you're enjoying your Labor Day.

These past couple of years have reminded me of just how much we depend on one another.

We depend on the hard-working healthcare workers who have risked their lives every day of this pandemic to protect all of us.

We rely on the people who work at grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacies, schools, restaurants, and public transportation agencies.

We rely on the leaders who set policies on the federal and state level, and we rely on the public health experts who inform those decisions.

So, let's take a few moments this Labor Day to thank all the people who are working or supporting those working.

And, let's also think about the people who have made and are continuing to make our labor force more just and equitable. That includes the people who fought tooth-and-nail for a fair wage and decent hours. And, it also includes the people who are still fighting to make sure workers have rights and are treated fairly.

So, I hope you enjoy your Labor Day and get a chance to think about what it all means.
