Unions brought us weekends, pensions, child labor laws, and so much more. Today, on Labor Day, we honor their history -- and we commit to continuing the fight to protect the rights of every worker.

The success of our workers means a stronger country for all of us. Especially after so many have had to work in dangerous conditions in recent months, we must stand against all efforts to roll back workers' rights.

I'm proud to have twice voted for the PRO Act, which would make it easier for employees to collectively bargain and crack down on underhanded union-busting tactics. I'll continue to advocate for this law to pass the Senate, and work to ensure that Congress's next budget strengthens worker protections wherever possible.

My resolve is stronger than ever to keep fighting for better working conditions, increased paid family and medical leave, fairer wages, and all of the other rights that workers deserve. Today -- and all days -- I’m proud to stand with our workers and unions.

I wish all of you a safe and happy Labor Day.
