This Labor Day, we must recommit to ensuring every worker has a fair shot on a level playing field in a safe workplace.

Hey,

In the 117 years since the first Labor Day, generations of workers organized and fought for their rights. Their blood and sweat created workplace protections for all Americans that made workers safer on the job and helped to build the middle class. But that work is far from over.

Today, workers on the front lines of a deadly global pandemic risk serious illness or death. Some continue their work out of duty and purpose while others work to avoid losing their family's livelihood.

Far too many of our neighbors and our coworkers still lack even basic benefits like paid sick leave and family leave. In addition to workplace harassment from their own teams, too many now also face attacks from customers angry about basic public health precautions.

We have so much work left to do. We have an obligation to those whose lives are at risk due to the pandemic -- and to all workers. We must commit to keeping them safe. We must fight to raise wages for working and middle class Americans. We must ensure that they too benefit when our economy is strong and refuse to allow our budgets to be balanced on their backs during hard times.

We should be proud of what we've accomplished since we won back the Senate and the White House, providing relief to millions of families, but our work, and this pandemic, are not yet over.

This Labor Day, we must recommit to ensuring every worker has a fair shot on a level playing field in a safe workplace. We hope you stand with us in getting vaccinated, following CDC guidelines, taking care of your neighbors, and fighting for a better future for all workers.

Thank you, and happy Labor Day,

Team Casey
