"The most important work we can do—aside from supporting the work of organizations like Americans United for Life and its peers—is ensure that we are prepared to respond in a life-affirming way in our own lives to the people who will need the love.” —Catherine Glenn Foster, President & CEO at Americans United for Life

Justices to Decide Whether States Can Protect Women from Dangerous Abortionists
(National Review) Americans United for Life is confident that the justices will vote to uphold Louisiana’s common-sense safety measure and allow Louisiana to protect women from substandard abortion doctors. Here’s hoping the Court also will take the opportunity to revisit Hellerstedt’s “thumb-to-the-wind” test and clarify that state laws may not be struck down simply because a federal court finds them to be marginally burdensome for abortion access.

Clarke Forsythe on politics, achieving the greatest good, and prudence in public life
(Life, Liberty, and Law) Clarke Forsythe joins Tom Shakely to speak on the virtue of prudence in the public square, and specifically on how we can make prudential decisions in an overheated political climate. Clarke Forsythe, Senior Counsel at Americans United for Life, is author of "Politics for the Greatest Good: The Case for Prudence in the Public Square" as well as Abuse of Discretion: The Inside Story of Roe v. Wade. After listening to Clarke, you might realize that politics and prudence aren't quite what you thought they were.

Life Leader: President Trump Is ‘Delivering Substantial Pro-Life Victories’
(Breitbart) The president of Americans United for Life (AUL), Catherine Glenn Foster, said President Trump may well deserve the title of most pro-life president in American history but the test will be whether Roe v. Wade is ultimately reversed through his influence.

LISTEN TO 'LIFE, LIBERTY, AND LAW'

When Hospitals Refuse To Allow Time For Brain-Injured Patients To Heal
(The Federalist) Families enduring the emotional trauma of a life-or-death crisis of a loved one should be able to trust that they will be listened to by doctors and reasonably accommodated when asking for more time before making an irrevocable decision. In fact, doctors are duty-bound to provide all potentially efficacious treatments that might help with the patient’s recovery.

Pro-life leader: Trump’s pro-life legacy depends on reversal of Roe v. Wade
(Crux) America’s pro-life movement has been awakening the consciences of women and men for generations, but particularly in recent years as science and medicine have made it impossible to honestly suggest that human life begins anytime other than the moment of sperm-egg fusion at conception.

California Mandates Free Abortion at Public Colleges
(National Review) This year has featured a number of controversial changes to state abortion policies across the country, as several states attempted to limit abortion earlier in pregnancy and a handful of others officially legalized abortion through all nine months of pregnancy. California state senator Connie Leyva, sponsor of S.B. 24, has said she hopes that her legislation will be the beginning of a broader campaign to make chemical-abortion drugs available on campuses across the country — a new frontier in the fight over abortion policy.
