On Labor Day, we celebrate the millions of Washingtonians who make our labor movement strong.
Today, I am especially grateful for the teachers, nurses, firefighters and other essential workers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. We depend on these workers to protect the health and safety of our entire community, and they deserve our appreciation.
I have always stood up for workers — and I always will.
When Donald Trump tried to weaken the Fair Labor Standards Act, or loosen restrictions for toxic pesticides exposing agricultural workers to harm, or gut our state’s protections for Hanford workers who became sick on the job — I took him to court and I won.
When female workers at a berry farm in Walla Walla County faced sexual harassment and pregnant workers at a major corporation were cruelly discriminated against — I took their employers to court, and I won.
I am honored to defend Washingtonians as the People’s Lawyer and you can count on me to continue to stand up for worker’s rights.
Enjoy a happy, and safe Labor Day today and we’ll be back at it tomorrow!
In solidarity,
Bob
