John,

As we celebrate Labor Day, we have to remember why we have the day off in the first place.

Today, we celebrate the contributions and achievements of workers across the country -- especially those involved in the labor movement.

In the 1800s, child labor, 12+ hour workdays, and unsafe workplace conditions were the norm. Thanks to the major strides unions made, we've implemented measures that make workplaces safer and help workers, including establishing the minimum wage.

We have a long way to go. Union membership has been on a steep decline since the 1980s and workers are suffering as a result.

The House passed the PRO Act months ago, which would strengthen the right to organize, provide more secure union elections, and impose monetary penalties for employers who violate workers' rights.

Will you sign our petition to call on the Senate to pass the PRO Act now? [[link removed]]

As our economy recovers from COVID, I want to make sure workers are in the driver's seat. When we put workers first and fight for fair wages, workplace protections, and strong unions, everyone benefits.

The PRO Act would bolster our efforts and empower the workforce, but we need the Senate to bring it up for a vote.

Thank you, and happy Labor Day!
