------------------------------------------------------------

This year ADHRB has accomplished a lot in its mission to raise awareness of and support for human rights in Bahrain and the broader Gulf. In 2019, ADHRB participated in three sessions of the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council where we delivered 53 oral interventions and held 12 side events calling attention to human rights abuses in Bahrain, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, the UAE, and Qatar.

Also this year, ADHRB drew attention to specific cases of human rights violations through producing 45 Profiles in Persecution and reaching 1,000+ complaints submitted to UN Special Procedures. We also conducted meetings with over 60 Republican and Democratic offices and engaged with several international Parliaments including Irish, French, Spanish, Italian, and European Parliaments.

Throughout 2019, ADHRB held three Congressional briefings and launched two breakthrough reports on abuses committed by Bahrain's MOI and the ill-treatment of women political prisoners. ADHRB also held solidarity stands in nine different countries to support Bahraini prisoners protesting against poor prison conditions.

ADHRB is constantly working towards improving the human rights situation in the Gulf and looks forward to continuing to raise awareness. Help us continue our mission by supporting ADHRB and donating below.
