Happy Labor Day, friend!

Today is a special day where we appreciate American workers who power our communities and keep our economy running. It’s also a day to celebrate our brothers and sisters in the labor movement, who have advocated tirelessly for worker’s rights like higher wages, better health care, improved workplace conditions, and retirement security.

Maryland needs an economy that recognizes the dignity of work from all its people and breaks down the structural barriers that have for far too long held back so many people of color and women in the workforce. We need to take steps such as speeding up Maryland’s path to a minimum wage that is a living wage and indexed to inflation, establishing paid family leave, and ensuring the right for workers to collectively bargain.

I’m running for governor to be an advocate for all Maryland working families. As governor, I will be a friend to unions and never take our workers, who are the foundation of our economy, for granted.

Friend, I hope you and your family have a safe and restful Labor Day!

Best,

John King Jr.

P.S. To ensure a union advocate is elected as Maryland’s next governor, I hope you’ll consider contributing to my campaign. This is a very competitive race, and even a $5 contribution goes a long way!
