Hey John, wanted to make sure I wished you a very Happy Labor Day.

While this is a day to celebrate our country’s long fight to create standard work hours, safety standards, and holidays, it’s also a day to reflect on the work we still have to do. See this, John?

This state’s steel and rubber literally built our nation. But failed Republican leadership has left Ohio’s workers in the dust.

We can’t just ask for the status quo, John. We’re in a new age of what work means, and that means we need a new wave of labor laws.

We need to fight for universal paid family leave.
We need to fight for protection from discrimination.
We need to fight for fair wages.

But if the labor movement of the past has taught us anything, it’s that change is going to take a whole lot of people standing together in solidarity for a better future.

I’m ready to commit to this fight, John, and I hope you’ll join me.
