Hi John,

On this Labor Day, I want to take a moment to reaffirm my commitment to protecting workers’ rights and standing with organized labor.

This is deeply personal for me. As a 31 year-long union member — four years as a grocery checker then 27 years in law enforcement — I saw firsthand how unions helped win safer working conditions and better pay for all workers.

Workers built this country, and they are the backbone of New Jersey. But today, there aren’t enough good-paying jobs that allow people to provide for their families and retire with dignity.

At the turn of the last century, Americans across the country came together to march and organize for the 40-hour workweek, weekends, workplace safety, the minimum wage, overtime pay, and other fundamental labor rights.

It’s important that we dedicate ourselves to continuing the fight for an even playing field, and an opportunity for everyone willing to work hard.

I am proud to stand with my union brothers and sisters, and I will be honored to fight for all New Jersey workers as your next representative.
