John,
As a daughter of farmworkers, I stand on the shoulders of giants. In my hometown of Laredo, I saw firsthand the sacrifices my parents made to open doors for my sister and I. My father picked fruit and started his own trucking company. He worked hard to make ends meet for us. It is why I am who I am today.
This Labor Day, we are honoring the labor movement, for thousands of workers like my dad, and all their work to fight for justice and dignity of all workers. The struggles my family went through — lack of access to healthcare, too few job opportunities, and a broken imimgration system — is what fuels my fight for working families across Texas to not experience what my family and I went through.
I’m proud to be running a campaign powered by working people and supported by local labor unions. We can and must do more to protect the rights of working people.
I will fight to be the representative South Texas deserves — a representative that fights for the needs of my community. With your contribution, I can get to work to protect our workers across the state. Will you chip in today?

The vision I have for my community is clear: fight for all working families. The obstacle to that vision: Henry Cuellar.
Cuellar is doing very little for workers — and most recently was the ONLY Democrat to vote NO on the PRO Act, a bill that seeks to expand workers’ rights and secure critical labor protections for workers all across this country. Cuellar’s track record shows he does very little to speak up for the needs and concerns of working families.
I am ready to fight for you and your family in Congress. I rely on grassroots supporters like you to power this campaign. Can I count on you to make a contribution today?
