For decades, workers across the country have organized for a stronger, fairer and more resilient economy. The American labor movement transformed our nation and made our economy the envy of the world: from the 40-hour workweek, overtime pay, workplace safety and the fight for equal pay -- workers have organized for the better wages, benefits, and the conditions they deserve. 

As we battle against the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and restore our economy, Republicans threaten to undermine all of the progress made by the American labor movement. This year, Democrats are celebrating Labor Day by honoring our workers and continuing to fight for the middle class and an economy that works for all Americans.
