Dear Clarion Project supporter,
I'd like to give you a quick update on our rescue efforts. As most of you know, when Taliban took over Afghanistan, we were deluged with messages from desperate Afghans and Americans seeking rescue for themselves and their families. Within days our database grew to 6,000 and currently stands at 15,000 people - one of the largest databases of Afghans seeking rescue. Over the next week we assisted 1,500-1,7000 people to get out of Afghanistan. This includes both American citizens and Afghans with verified documentation of their involvement with the government or U.S. forces.
I can't go into details, but the Clarion Intelligence Network team is playing a crucial role in the rescue operation by gathering data from different Afghan and other sources, and coordinating and communicating with the different groups on the ground. The bulk of the intelligence team continues to focus on identifying domestic extremist threats, but your support over the last two weeks has allowed us to expand our efforts and play a critical role in this emergency rescue operation.
If we raise another $25,000, we'd create a secure platform to faciliate our coordination efforts with the various groups on the ground. We've been remarkably successful with the limited resources at our disposal, and a more robust system would greatly help our efforts.
As part of our Afghan rescue work, we've also been collecting information from our Afghan sources about Taliban sympathizers who appear to have been included in the government-sponsored evacuation and Taliban sympathizers already in the U.S. who may pose a very real security threat to our nation at home.
One predictable outcome of this Taliban victory is a surge in domestic threats from Islamic extremists. Your support is crucial both for rescuing our allies and U.S. citizens in Afghanistan and for protecting ourselves from these increased threats.
We will continue to continue to keep you updated about these threats and you should be receiving the next Extremist Roundup later this week.
