The Local Index is a snapshot of the reproductive health, rights, and justice policies of 50 cities across the United States. It is also a call-to-action, outlining specific ways advocates and policymakers can build stronger and healthier communities, charting a course that cities can follow.

John, the past two years have brought unprecedented attacks on reproductive freedom from state legislatures and alarming anti-abortion vitriol from the Trump-Pence administration.

The Local Index demonstrates how cities across the United States have emerged as a collective counterweight, defying anti-abortion extremism in order to boldly support reproductive health, rights, and justice.

From protecting abortion access to outlawing discrimination to raising the minimum wage, even cities in the reddest of states are at the forefront of this fight. Which is where the Local Index comes in. It’s more than just a report — it’s a roadmap to resistance.
