The Quadrille Ball is looking for new members for its 2020 season. A number of YRs have taken part in the Ball over the past few years, and we want to continue to refer new members from this organization.
The Quadrille Ball is an annual event hosted by the Germanistic Society of America, a non-profit organization that promotes cultural and educational exchange between Germany and the United States. The event raises money to provide American and German students with opportunities to study in their counterpart country.
We are looking for single men and women in their 20s and early 30s who would be interested in learning and performing a short dance during the ball in early February. The dance itself is easy -- no previous dance experience is required -- and just requires you to attend one practice a week on Tuesday nights leading up to the Ball. After each practice, there is an afterparty at a local bar, restaurant, or private residence, where you’ll get to know the other dancers and members of the Junior Committee. Practice nights and afterparties are a huge amount of fun, and people often stay out until the early hours of the night with the group.
The Ball itself is held at the Pierre Hotel and features a wonderful dinner, a chance to meet high-profile guests and dignitaries, and the performance of the dance for the guests. After the performance, everyone gets a chance to relax and enjoy the ball, an open bar, and dancing until late in the night. It’s an unforgettable event every year.
The Quadrille Ball is a non-political, non-partisan organization, but members are politically very tolerant, and you’ll find that you feel welcome in the group.
