Really exciting news from our camp today. Check it out:

At the start of this campaign, we laid out our plan to register and turn out more Democratic voters than any Congressional campaign in Texas history. And we have been wearing out our shoes doing just that.

But in order for this movement to scale, it's going to take both tried and true progressive organizing practices and principles, as well as bleeding-edge digital tools. That's why we're tremendously excited to unveil a game-changing piece of technology that will allow us to target unregistered Democrats in District 25, and get them registered to vote in an efficient, trackable way that has been proven to have off-the-charts high turnout.

In 2018, a group of driven electoral data nerds and voting rights activists piloted a ground-breaking voter registration initiative that served as a near approximation of online voter registration that took the fight to Texas’ historically, straight-from-Jim-Crow anti-voting laws.

With just two months to work, that team got 135,000 voters registered using a trackable, efficient register-by-mail system. 102,000 -- a truly unprecedented 82% -- of those registered actually turned out to vote. Three Republican state house seats were flipped red to blue in the process.  

Now we're leveraging their technology on an initiative to get 16,363 unregistered Democrats in District 25 registered to vote between now and December 1.

Here's how it works.

1. Head to https://julieoliver.org/registervoters.

2. Hover over a precinct to see counts of unregistered Democrats who have recently moved into that precinct. You can see what kind of progress we've made in the overlay.

3. Chip in toward that precinct, or toward multiple precincts. For whatever dollar amount you choose to contribute, our automated system will mail registration forms to residents in that region, and the system will update the "Percent Funded" accordingly. That way, you can follow the impact you're making!

4. Pre-filled registration forms go into the mail with pre-paid return envelopes.

5. We track completion, and our team follows up via text, phone, or on social media.

I'm very grateful for everything you do for our campaign, and I couldn't be more proud of what our field team has already accomplished -- we've been working our hearts out so far to build capacity during this primary.

Now, please go pitch in to help us get 16,363 unregistered Democrats in District 25 registered to vote between now and December 1. Let's see how fast we can turn this map purple and by extension, turn Texas blue -- and when we do, you'll know that you were part of making it happen.
