Justice Democrats

John,

On Wednesday, SB 8: Texas’ draconian six-week abortion ban went into effect. Under the law, private citizens can sue abortion providers and anyone else that helps people access an abortion. And last night, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the law.

Now the fight to protect abortion access and abolish the filibuster has never been so urgent.

We need Democrats to step up and use their majority to end the filibuster and codify Roe v. Wade as the law of the land. The Women’s Health Protection Act will ensure all people can access the reproductive health care they need — no matter what state they live in.

Without intervention from Congress, more state legislators will pass anti-choice legislation targeting people’s right to a safe and accessible abortion. Just look at the news from Florida:

Florida Lawmakers Pledge to Pass Abortion Ban Following Texas’ Model

Right now, the fight to elect members of Congress who will abolish the filibuster and protect access to abortion has become even more critical. Will you chip in $3 to support our work?

We’re hearing a lot of lip service from establishment Democrats about the implications of Texas’ abortion ban. But they are not helpless, and there is something we can do about it. We need elected officials who will abolish the filibuster to ensure that we can combat anti-choice legislation across the country.

If you believe that we need to elect Democrats who won’t hesitate to abolish the filibuster and pass abortion protections, will you chip in $3 right now?

We are in a critical moment in the fight for reproductive health care and abortion access.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
