Hi friend,
This is Deb and Jerry Finkenauer – Abby's parents – writing to you.
Firstly, we wanted to thank you for being part of Abby's grassroots team to win Iowa's Senate seat and defeat Sen. Chuck Grassley. It's going to take a lot of work, but when Abby sets her mind to something, she always gets it done. With the right resources and the right team, she'll win this.
Now when it comes to resources, we know Abby's up against the entire Republican establishment: Mitch McConnell's fundraising committees and super PACs, and the $24 million campaign war chest of the Senate Republicans. With only 27% of Iowans reporting they want to reelect Sen. Grassley, national Republicans will spend heavily to keep Iowa red.
What they don't realize yet is that Abby will outwork them every step of the way. We may not have been able to give our daughter a trust fund or write a six-figure check for college – and she doesn’t have millions in campaign cash like her opponent – but what we did give her was her work ethic. Abby's someone who sees work to be done and does it. She's unrelenting in her support of Iowa's working families, and that's the attitude she'll bring to the Senate.
But to compete against the entire Republican establishment, to win this race, Abby is counting on unprecedented grassroots resources. That's why we're asking: Can you help Abby start September's fundraising off strong by making a contribution?
Please make a contribution of $5 or more – whatever you can spare to help Abby stay on track with her fundraising – so we can defeat Sen. Grassley, flip Iowa blue and protect our Democratic Senate majority. Every dollar you give will help us elect a true champion of working families to the Senate.

So grateful for your support of our daughter. Thank you.

P.S. The above is a photo from a day that was very special to our family: walking into Abby's congressional office in Washington. We were her very first visitors. We can't wait to see her back on the Senate side getting work done for Iowans. Pitch in a donation to help make it happen.
