This Week: NAFCU testifies on MDI support, meets with CFPB on innovation policies,UDAAP [ [link removed] ]
Mara Falero, vice president of marketing and communication at JetStream Federal Credit Union, is set to testify on behalf of NAFCU this week before the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions. During her testimony, Falero will discuss supporting the credit union industry's more than 600 minority depository institutions (MDIs), including JetStream Federal Credit Union.


Supreme Court to rule on CFPB structure [ [link removed] ]
The U.S Supreme Court last week agreed to hear a case, filed by Seila Law, challenging the CFPB's single-director structure. Last month, CFPB Director Kathy Kraninger notified congressional leaders that the bureau would no longer defend its director structure, following years of lawsuits and calls from various stakeholders.


NAFCU sees opportunity in HUD disparate impact updates [ [link removed] ]
In response to the Department of Housing and Urban Developmentā€™s (HUD) proposed rule on its implementation of the Fair Housing Act's (FHA) disparate impact standard, NAFCU on Friday sent a letter in support of several amendments while also offering up potential additions and suggestions to the rule.

The NCUA Friday published its schedule of open board meetings for 2020. All meetings are slated to begin at 10 a.m. Eastern at the agency's headquarters, but the schedule is subject to change at any time.

NAFCU Vice President of Regulatory Compliance Brandy Bruyere answered frequently asked questions on the NCUA's bylaws - both old and new - in a new post on the Compliance Blog. The NCUA Board last month unanimously passed a final rule that codifies in one place several existing NCUA legal opinions and clarifies several bylaw provisions.
