Team -- this is a HUGE win for voting rights: We’ve passed the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

This landmark bill will:

• Restore the voting rights protections from the Voting Rights Act of 1965 that have been dismantled by the Supreme Court
• Ban many types of voter ID laws
• Require public notice for any changes made to voting laws in a state

Every single Nevadan should have the ability to safely and securely cast their vote, and with the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act, they’ll be able to. The only hurdle to passing this legislation: the Senate. We need all the support we can get to show the Senate how popular this bill is.
