Working within the Council House in the Old Market Square your daily duties will depend on the needs of the Service but usually arriving at 7.30am each morning?to clean for 2 hours (and 3.75 hours on a Saturday)?in preparation for the building opening to the public at 9am- this?will include cleaning toilet facilities, vacuuming carpets and cleaning?wooden and tiled?floors and any other duties that may be necessary to?assist the Cleaner in Charge.??The working week will consist of 2 hours Monday to Friday each day starting at 7.30am until 9.30am and also 3 hours 45 minutes on a Saturday starting at 8.30am until 12.15pm. You will be working as part of a small Cleaning team and be supervised by a Cleaner in Charge and Facilities Manager who will provide you with training and guidance.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:?
  • Previous experience in working as part of a team and with a basic understanding of different cleaning methods and equipment within a Historic building preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently and flexibly around the Service needs and opening hours?of the building
  • Basic awareness of Health and Safety including the safe use of materials and equipment

THE ROLE:
The Fleet Services team are looking for a qualified and experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic to join the workshop team based at both Woolsthorpe and?Eastcroft Depot. The workshop provides a light vehicle repair and maintenance service for both the Council's internal fleet and a range of external customers including taxi testing.
?
The successful candidate will work as part of the team to deliver an extensive programme of vehicle maintenance, repair, inspection and examination. They will work to ensure compliance with statutory legislation, the legal requirements of the Councils Operator's Licence, DVSA requirements and internal Council policies and procedures.
?
The successful candidate will be able to work on their own initiative and to strict deadlines; at all times ensuring that a high quality standard of work is delivered.
?
This role is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking local authority who are continually look to expand their commercial fleet business.

The Nottingham Electric Vehicle Services centre (NEVS) is set?to open at Eastcroft Depot in early 2020. NEVS will provide comprehensive electric vehicle?servicing and repair facility for the Council's ever-growing internal electric fleet, private customers and partner organisations. This role also presents a great career opportunity to become a part of this innovative project and add to your training portfolio.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- City & Guilds level 3 qualification?in Light?Vehicle Maintenance and Repair principles, or equivalent
- Full driving?licence?with Category B entitlement
- Experience of working with all aspects of light vehicle maintenance and repair
- Ability to work on own initiative and to meet strict?deadlines?
