Team -- Go Hogs!

It’s the first Razorbacks game of the season today, and I can’t wait to see our Hogs take on the Owls.

Growing up in Pine Bluff, game day brought the whole family together -- some of my favorite memories are Friday night games at Watson Chapel High School and Saturday games at University of Arkansas Pine Bluff.

Living so close to UAPB meant that not only did I get to cheer on the Golden Lions, often selling concessions during the games, and I was able to participate in some of their science programs. My experience there made me fall in love with science and HBCU’s -- which is part of the reason I ended up attending Morehouse.

In Arkansas, football season brings people together. I’m a huge fan of the game, but I’m an even bigger fan of the feeling of community that comes with it every Fall.

So, whether you’re cheering on the Razorbacks, Golden Lions, or your alma mater, I hope you have a great weekend. I am also asking everyone to get vaccinated and wear your mask so we can make it an even more enjoyable weekend.
