John — We have a moral obligation to aid all those left behind in Afghanistan, and we can do that by assisting in the evacuation of those in danger and opening our arms to Afghan refugees desperately seeking safety.
That’s why I joined Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to demand the Biden administration raise the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program cap to no less than 200,000 for 2022.
We must be doing everything in our power to help and protect those seeking safety in Afghanistan. Add your name to help us build grassroots power in support of raising the cap on refugee admissions.
After decades of instability and military conflict, women, children, soldiers, translators, and other citizens in Afghanistan are facing imminent danger under Taliban rule.
While there will never be a military solution in Afghanistan, our mission is now focused on humanitarian aid. The United States must raise the cap on refugee admissions to at least 200,000 annually and provide safety and shelter to all those who seek it.
It would be cruel to keep the cap on refugee admissions so low as the Afghan people turn to us for help. That’s why I need you to join me in demanding the Biden administration welcome more refugees.
