John,
In January 2004, Lauren and her then-boyfriend Jayson were at a bowling alley, when Jayson decided to expose himself to two young women, after asking them if they wanted to see a tattoo he had. He pled guilty to "public indecency and lewd exposure." Just a month later, he was arrested and charged with harassing and physically assaulting Lauren.
In 2007, the couple married. Apparently, indecent exposure and physical assault are easily forgivable acts for Lauren. Now, years later, she uses her position on the House Natural Resources Committee to boost Jayson's position in the energy sector.
Is this the type of person we want representing us in Congress? If our representatives surround themselves with people who do not know how to treat their fellow citizens with respect and dignity, how will they be able to legislate properly, and to ensure all citizens respect and dignity?
