Hi Comrade,

August was an eventful month for Akron DSA. Our members participated in Nina Turner's race for Congress, DSA Convention 2021, and Akron Pride Festival! We also had the pleasure of welcoming our new comrades from the former Portage DSA chapter! Join us this month at our exciting events!

SEIU Local 1 janitors who clean the Cuyahoga County Public Libraries (CCPL) have been putting their lives on the line throughout the pandemic, but they still have to fight Summit Building Services (headquarters in Stow) for the benefits from their previous contract. Support them at a socially distanced outdoor rally Thursday, September 9 at noon in Parma.

Our September General Meeting will be held on Zoom on Wednesday, September 15th at 7 PM. Members in good standing will have the opportunity to vote on and present priority resolutions for our chapter to focus on for the next season! We will also discuss local and national actions!

Then, join us for our New Member Orientation on Zoom on Sunday, September 19th at 2:00 PM. New, re-engaged, and prospective members will have the chance to learn more about how Akron DSA works and ask questions. Bring a friend!

Finally, Akron DSA will be having a day at the Akron Zoo on Sunday, September 26th at 10 AM. You may remember our support of the zoo levy last year, let's go see the results!

Throughout September, there will be opportunities to phone bank for the PRO Act and a Green New Deal for schools, coordinated by DSA Ecosocialists.
