Friend,
What's going on in Ohio? For one thing, a GOP official is openly saying Republicans should rig the state's maps, tweeting:
For another thing, Republican Gov. Mike DeWine ditched a hearing seeking public input on redistricting for a Cincinnati Bengals practice.
It's almost as if Ohio Republicans don't actually care what their constituents want! But Ohio is not an oddity.
Look, the truth is, in states across the country where Republicans control the redistricting process -- like Ohio, Georgia, Florida, and more -- it won't be easy to secure fair maps. That's why we have to go into redistricting with every possible tool, including public pressure, including accountability at election time, including support for plaintiffs in lawsuits where necessary.
But whether we have access to all those tools depends on whether we hit our fundraising goals. John, the maps are being drawn RIGHT NOW. Can you pitch in to help us fight for fair maps nationwide before it's too late?
