Coming Soon: Where I'm From
POV Shorts, the newest series from American Documentary, begins its 4th season with Where I’m From, an episodic compilation of three short films that is set to broadcast on Monday, September 6th at 10pm on PBS (check local listings ([link removed]) ) and streaming online at POV.org. Where I’m From ([link removed]) is an episode dedicated to exploring family roots and all of the different ways our histories shape us.

The Films

Sing Me a Lullaby ([link removed]) , directed by Tiffany Hsiung. Spanning 14 years and two continents, a daughter searches for her mother's birth parents in Taiwan, unraveling complex tensions between love and sacrifice.

A Broken House ([link removed]) , directed by Jimmy Goldblum. Mohamad Hafez received a one-way ticket to the United States. Missing his homeland, he decided to create a stand-in. A story of love, loss and creating pathways home.
Joychild ([link removed]) , directed by Aurora Brachman. A young child tells their mother "I'm not a girl" for the first time.
