Despite months of organizing and thousands of calls, on Wednesday, 666 new laws went into effect in Texas, many of which directly harm our communities. They include a ban on voters from registering to vote using a post office box as their address, a ban on abortions as early as 6 weeks (which was just upheld by the Supreme Court), permitless gun carry, and limits on the discussion of systemic racism in schools.
Remember: In order to stop these kinds of laws, we must change our lawmakers. That means electing new leaders who will fight back against these attacks on our democracy, health, and civil rights and work to create a government that is of, for, and by the people.
