In this political moment, the number of ongoing battles across the country can be overwhelming. But we’d like to instead say—these are just the battles that we haven’t won yet.
Any person who has ever worked on a campaign, or donated to a cause they believe in, or built power for their community or values can tell you: It takes heart, determination, and deep belief to see change realized. It’s why we call this work a movement—because it takes time and collective effort to see it realized.
The events of these past weeks are reverberating in the minds of people across the country. From Louisiana, to California, to Texas, large-scale climate events and dangerous rollbacks on basic rights threaten communities and individuals alike. It can be hard at times, John, to keep the faith when it feels like the ground is being pulled out from under us.
But our ask of you, from the bottom of our hearts—is to not give up.
We have so much left to do, and so many ideas on the table that we are mounting to confront the crises of our era. We have the tools that we need to act on climate, to run winning campaigns, and to show up every day to fight for our values. We need you by our side, John, and we need you to say it with us: “We can do it.”
