Texas Heartbeat Law Made History As It Took Effect on September 1

Wednesday, the Texas Heartbeat Law made history as it took effect as the nation’s strongest pro-life legislation. The Texas Heartbeat Law (S.B. 8) prohibits abortions in Texas after the detection of the child’s heartbeat, which is currently 6 weeks gestation, although it can be detected as early as 5 weeks gestation.

The abortion industry is going to try and do everything they can to stop the Texas Heartbeat Bill, so we need your help and support to fight them!  Donate Today!

Jonathan Saenz, President, and Attorney at Texas Values released the following statement:

“Today is historic for law and life. The Texas Heartbeat Act is the first-ever law of its type to go into effect. Starting today, babies and mothers will be spared from abortion in Texas when a baby’s heartbeat is detected. God bless Texas and courageous leaders like Sen. Bryan Hughes, Rep. Shelby Slawson, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Gov. Greg Abbott, Attorney General Ken Paxton and his team, and thousands of pro-life supporters for making this day possible.

Coalition groups celebrated at the Texas State Capitol the law going into effect. Speakers included Jonathan Saenz of Texas Values, Sarah Zarr of Students for Life, Abby Johnson of And Then There Were None, and Ann Hettinger of Concerned Women for America of Texas.

BREAKING: Supreme Court Victory: Texas Heartbeat Law Passes Judicial Test

Late last night, the U.S Supreme Court voted to leave the Texas Heartbeat Act (S.B. 8) in place, the nation’s strongest pro-life legislation. Yesterday, the Texas Heartbeat law made history as it took effect, sparing the lives of approximately 130 babies per day from abortion in Texas. This is the first-ever heartbeat law to go into effect, as all other states have had theirs struck down by the courts before they were ever implemented. The Act prohibits abortions in Texas after the detection of the child’s heartbeat, which is currently 6 weeks gestation, although it can be detected as early as 5 weeks gestation.

Jonathan Saenz, President, and Attorney at Texas Values released the following statement:

“The Supreme Court got it right by not blocking the Texas Heartbeat law, which is the first-ever law of its type to go into effect. Thousands of babies will be spared from abortion in Texas when a baby’s heartbeat is detected. Texas wins and life wins!”
