Finding out that your grassroots support helped us reach our ambitious August fundraising goal was deeply humbling, and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. Even if you weren’t able to give this time, your support is felt and noted.

Here in Washington, we are in an existential struggle to preserve voting rights and secure women’s constitutional right to choose.

The Supreme Court is currently looking at a case that has the potential to overturn Roe V. Wade and just allowed a draconian law that effectively bans abortion in the state of Texas to go into effect.

Our fundamental rights are under assault from a Republican party that has openly embraced disinformation and authoritarian subservience to Donald Trump. There is no sugarcoating it, we are living through a time of great danger for our democracy.

However, there is also opportunity. We are on the verge of passing the most progressive budget since the new deal -- investing in infrastructure, lowering drug prices, expanding workers’ rights, growing educational opportunities, addressing the climate crisis, and much more.

That’s why there is no margin for error in the 2022 elections. Allowing Republicans to control Congress could have devastating long-term impacts on our freedoms.

With your support, we can now make critical early investments in frontline Democratic races that will determine if we can hold on to our three-seat majority in next year’s midterm elections.
