Dear Friend,
Thanks to your prayers for Cardinal Burke, he is making great
strides in his healing and recovery. Please
find the Letter of Gratitude from His Eminence
here.
How often do we make the sign of the cross? Gaze upon our
Crucified Lord on the cross? Kiss a Crucifix? Is it once daily or
several times during the day and night?
How important the Cross is today, in this upside-down world –
take hold of it, so that you and your family are not swept away from
the one, true Catholic Church.
Pay heed to this sad news: a newly ordained
priest has committed suicide. One of the last good deeds he did was
to help his mother prepare for Hurricane Ida. In this day and age, we
read of more priests taking their lives –
why?
In another part of that state, the rector of a National
Shrine moved the Feast Day Holy Mass (usually celebrated on the Sunday
closest to the feast) to the following Sunday due to a major league
football home game!! Why? Because “many devotees are ticket holders
and others love to watch the game on TV. In addition, the traffic for
a home game interferes with getting to the Shrine for our
Mass.”
More and more, society disregards
that Sundays are holy days in which we
worship God, Our Creator
and are to
thank Jesus at Holy Mass for dying on the cross for our
sins!
Remember, as the world spirals downward, out of control, the
Cross stands firm!
Let us bring our personal petitions, for those of the world
and especially for the restoration of good health for Cardinal Burke,
to the foot of the Cross, where Our Lady of Sorrows stays close to her
Son.
“Virgin of all virgins best, listen to my fond requests.”
