Hello —

I am incredibly grateful for the brave Americans who served in Afghanistan and for our Afghan allies who stood with us over two decades. Today and every day, my heart is with the loved ones of the servicemembers and civilians we lost.

While I have taken heart in the inspiring rescue mission to evacuate approximately 124,000 American citizens and Afghan allies over the past few weeks, the traumatic but necessary end to a 20-year war in Afghanistan was truly heartbreaking, and we have a moral obligation to support those who helped our mission.

I’m proud that Wisconsin is once again playing a leading role in welcoming refugees to Fort McCoy and helping them resettle across our state.
