1. FOX NEWS: Supreme Court allowing Texas abortion law to take effect sparks intense reactions on both sides

"‘This is an historic moment in the fight to protect women and children from abortion,’ said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. ‘We’re excited to see the Heartbeat Act save lives starting today and stand with our allies on the front lines serving mothers and families.’

‘The American people are eager to humanize our extreme, outdated abortion laws. This law reflects the scientific reality that unborn children are human beings, with beating hearts by six weeks.’”

Check out this great opinion piece <[link removed]> from Andrew McCarthy on the Supreme Court and the Texas abortion ban.

Also, in case you were curious, the response from President Biden, Speaker Pelosi, and the Democrats in the U.S. House have been as crazy as you would expect: "The Democratic-controlled U.S. House of Representatives plans to debate and vote on legislation aimed at stopping states from enacting tough anti-abortion regulations like the one in Texas, Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Thursday, but the bill's prospects in the Senate were slim." 2. NC VALUES: The ’So What’ on SOGI Laws

SOGI laws are a solution in search of a non-existent problem.

A so-called solution that opens the door to expensive legal challenges. Public records requests in 12 states revealed an overwhelming majority (99.98%!) of allegations of discrimination lacked merit. In Phoenix, Arizona, the city passed a SOGI law on the belief that discrimination based on sexual orientation was rampant in the area. During the first two years following its passage, only four complaints were filed—all of which were dismissed without merit.

Unfortunately, the attempt to use SOGI laws to address non-existent problems actually creates life-destroying realities for Christian artists, artisans, and business owners.

3. CAROLINA JOURNAL: N.C. lawmakers send anti-indoctrination bill to Cooper

"One of the most hotly debated bills of the legislative section cleared its final hurdle Wednesday, Sept. 1, and now heads to Gov. Roy Cooper, who could add the measure to his growing list of vetoes.

House Bill 324,Ensuring Dignity and Nondiscrimination in Schools, passed a concurrence vote in the N.C. House by a 61-41margin along party lines, with Republicans voting in favor and Democrats against. The bill would banthe teaching of 13discriminatory concepts in the classroom, including:

-  That one race or sex is inherently superior to another race or sex.

- An individual, solely by virtue of his or her race or sex, is inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive.

- An individual should be discriminated against or receive adverse treatment solely or partly because of his or her race or sex.

- A meritocracy is inherently racist or sexist.

- Particular character traits, values, moral or ethical codes, privileges, or beliefs should be ascribed to a race or sex, or to an individual because of the individual’s race or sex.

Each of these ideas has been linked to Critical Race Theory, but sponsors stressed during the floor debate that the scope extended well beyond CRT.”

4. FOX NEWS: California teacher who removed US flag, suggested students pledge allegiance to pride flag removed from classroom

"A California teacher who went viral after bragging in a TikTok video that she had taken down the American flag in her classroom because it made her feel "uncomfortable" and suggested that her students should say the Pledge of Allegiance to a rainbow flag has been removed from her classroom.”

5. ZERO HEDGE: School Board Members Quitting Over "Toxic" Parents Who Oppose Mask Mandates, Vaccines, And CRT

"As schools across the country force masks and Critical Race Theory (CRT) on America's youth, a massive backlash from angry parents has proven to be too much for some school board members to handle.

According to the Associated Press, 'a growing number are resigning or questioning their willingness to serve as meetings have devolved into shouting contests between deeply political constituencies over how racial issues are taught, masks in schools, and COVID-19 vaccines and testing requirements.’"

WEEKLY PRAYER: LIFE

LORD, we recognize that you are Sovereign over all creation. We recognize you made man from the dust, and in your mercy, you crowned creation with man and woman made in your image. What a wonder it is that you would bestow upon us this blessing and responsibility! LORD, may we not take this blessing for granted. We pray that this great responsibility and dignity may motivate us to love You, our neighbors, and our families more.

LORD, may we as a culture truly see and believe that children are a blessing from the LORD—born or unborn; able or disabled. All children should have an opportunity to experience the liberty of life. LORD, make us your vehicle to change our culture into one that cherishes and protects life. Keep at the forefront of our minds our responsibilities to respect, cherish, and serve the youngest and oldest in our society.

Finally, LORD, we pray even further for our children. Across our state, country, and world, an entire generation of youth have seen their lives and education ruptured by the pandemic and its closing of schools. Father, as a result so many of these children are not only wounded by the quality of their education, but by a likely onslaught of mental illness brought about by social isolation. LORD, bring them hope and healing as only You can.

"At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, 'Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?' He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.'" (Matthew 18:1-6)

Amen
