On Monday, we’ll join together with friends and family to celebrate Labor Day. But today, I want to take a moment to reflect on what makes Labor Day so important to our state
.
Labor Day is a celebration of the hard-won achievements of the labor movement — higher wages, safe working conditions, and critical benefits like healthcare. But, Labor Day also reminds us that there’s still so much more we can do to support hardworking Georgians.

Here in Georgia, prices have gone up but wages have remained stagnant, and workers are struggling to make ends meet. At the same time, our leaders have been weakening unions and dismantling workers’ rights.

I believe that Georgia workers deserve fair treatment, fair pay, and endless respect for all they do to keep our state running. And I’m committed to standing with union leaders and fighting for Georgia workers — for a living wage, safe working conditions, and equal employment opportunity.

This Labor Day weekend, I hope you’ll join me in thanking everyone who’s fought for fair labor practices and every hardworking Georgian who does so much to move our state forward.
