I’m writing to you because we have a rare opportunity in Iowa to flip a seat from GOP to Democrat in the Iowa House.

Andrea Philips, the former vice chair of the Iowa Democratic Party, is running for Iowa’s House District 37 in a special election being held September 14th, less than two weeks from now.

Iowa is in a pretty dark place, with the Republican dominated state legislature passing bills that restrict a woman's reproductive rights, allow guns to be sold without a background check, and ban local jurisdictions, from cities to schools,from enacting mask mandates when needed, to protect Iowan’s lives.

We need all hands on deck if we are going to flip this seat.

Why should we support Andrea? She listens, she cares, and she works hard for Iowans. I know she will be an excellent legislator who will do what’s right, not what’s easy, and work to pass laws that will benefit the majority: hard-working lower and middle-income folks.

I’m going to be volunteering - driving Andrea to knock doors so she can get more doors in, and text-banking to help turn out the vote. Please consider donating your time and/or funds to helping elect Andrea Phillips on September 14th.
