Hi John,

It’s no surprise that women of color who aspire to leadership roles continue to face unique challenges in our affordable housing industry.

Even with the strides made in recent decades, women of color are still significantly underrepresented and underutilized in leadership roles. They continue to face systemic and cultural barriers that we often overlook and do not openly discuss.

This is why we need to talk about how we can better support and nurture BIPOC women as leaders as they enter our field, because the fact is that they have a valuable and unique perspective that we can all gain so much from.

I’m pleased to offer and moderate a special webinar presentation, BIPOC Leaders: Bring Your Whole Self To Work, coming up Thursday, September 9 (11:30am -1:00PM).

Hurry, registration closes Tuesday, September 7 at 5PM PDT

Hosted by the Emerging Leaders Peer Network (EPLN), this roundtable will bring a candid discussion on removing barriers to becoming a leader and cultivating a culture of inclusion and belonging within our industry.

Featuring a panel of amazing BIPOC female leaders in the affordable housing industry:

In particular, we’ll explore:

  • How can organizations seek to support BIPOC women for important leadership roles?
  • What are organizations doing to change historically discriminatory dynamics?
  • How can organizations create a culture of inclusion and belonging for BIPOC women to allow them to bring their whole selves to work?
  • What hard and soft skills help women become critical contributors at the most senior levels of their organizations?

The event costs $10 to attend. If cost is an issue, please email Morgan LaBarrie at  [email protected] No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

I look forward to seeing you at this critical discussion. Thank you for all that you do.

Onward,
