Last night, Texas passed an abortion ban that could end Roe vs. Wade, putting millions of people in danger of losing the reproductive health care they need and deserve.

Worst of all — Kansas isn’t far behind Texas, with the GOP in our state trying to enact legislation that would restrict reproductive health care options in our state.

This attack from the Texas State Legislature is the first of its kind, giving private citizens anywhere in the US the right to sue any Texan who helps patients access abortion care after 6 weeks, well before many know they’re pregnant.

And even worse, the bill financially incentivizes people to turn in their fellow citizens, rewarding them with at least $10,000 if their suit is successful.

This bill is an archaic, restrictive, and grossly unconstitutional attack on reproductive freedom. And we must work together to stop it.
