The Don’t Trash Oldham clean ups are underway

This week the first Don’t Trash Oldham clean up started in the Alexandra Ward and our teams were on site clearing waste, litter and weeds from alleyways.

Cllr Arooj Shah, Leader of Oldham Council, went down to meet the team and see what they’re up against.

Greater Manchester Clean Air Zone

You may see Greater Manchester Clean Air Zone road signs and enforcement cameras popping up in your area over the next few weeks and months.

Greater Manchester is getting ready for the launch of a Clean Air Zone on 30 May 2022.

The Zone won’t be in operation until then, and cameras are just being tested at the moment.

The Clean Air Zone is designed to reduce air pollution from road traffic in Greater Manchester and bring it within legal limits as soon as possible.

If they don’t meet emission standards, vans, HGVs, buses, coaches, hackney cabs, private hire vehicles and some specialist vehicles will pay a daily charge to drive in the Zone. Private cars, motorbikes and mopeds aren’t included.

To find out more about the Zone and whether your vehicle may be affected, visit cleanairgm.com
