Back to school travel
Walking, cycling or scooting to school is a fun, healthy start to the day, and it also helps take cars off our roads, reducing congestion and improving our air quality.
Don't forget, you can sign up to Operation:School Run to receive weekly missions for your child or children to make the school run even more interesting.

In line with Government guidance, it is recommended people continue to wear face coverings, unless exempt.
All operators in the city continue to clean vehicles thoroughly on a regular basis, and windows on buses will be kept open for ventilation.

Rail services
As a result of strike action there will be changes to EMR services until further notice. Reduced timetables will operate on the following Sundays:
Regional, Intercity and Connect routes affected - 5, 12, 19 and 26 September.
Regional routes affected only - 3 and 10 October.

We're carrying out works on the footpath that runs along Valley Road, including widening and resurfacing. A lane closure will be in place between 9.30am and 3.30pm. For more information visit our webpage.
Saturday 20 February - early September 2021: Nuthall Road/Western Boulevard junction
Some lane closures in place while resurfacing work is carried out. This is part of a scheme to improve traffic flow and bus journey times at this busy junction.

Road closure between Heathcoat Street and Western Street due to demolition works.
Severn Trent Water replacement scheme
Severn Trent will be undertaking a scheme to replace water mains on various roads in the Forest Fields area from July 2021. This will include rolling road closures and parking suspensions in 100m sections to excavate and install new water mains in the highway.

Highways England Clifton Bridge repairs
Highways England is continuing to carry out works to repair and strengthen the A52 Clifton Bridge. An additional lane is expected to reopen toward the end of September, with all lanes due to open by the end of November.
