Every day I reflect on how grateful I am to represent the great state of New Mexico. We are lucky enough to be home to many diverse and unique species.

Unfortunately, many animals are struggling more than ever due to a lack of adequate and equitable funding for wildlife conservation on tribal lands.

Wildlife conservation is essential to maintaining healthy wildlife populations and allowing animals to migrate and move safely through the United States, but the threat of the climate crisis puts the existence of many species and the corridors they use for migration at risk.

That's why I joined forces with my Democratic colleagues to introduce the Tribal Wildlife Corridors Act

This bill is intended to fund critical wildlife migration pathways on tribal lands and will ensure tribes have the resources to implement conservation measures that protect our ecosystems and boost biodiversity.

Will you sign my petition urging Congress to support our legislation to protect wildlife? We need to do all we can to legally protect the wildlife population in New Mexico and across our country.

This is an important step in recognizing the significant role tribes play in protecting wildlife and providing much needed resources to improve their conservation efforts.
