The "Squad" is Coming!

Dear Friend,

Did you hear the news? Led by Ilhan Omar herself, the “Squad” has announced it will be protesting in Minnesota this weekend to disrupt the Line 3 replacement project and denigrate hardworking Minnesotans. It’s ironic the Squad is going to visit Minnesota on Labor Day weekend and attempt to disrupt tremendous progress on the pipeline and ridicule the skilled labor workers who made Line 3 possible.

I look forward to being joined by union leaders and state legislators at the State Capitol in St. Paul tomorrow morning to express our concern and disappointment in the Squad’s effort to disparage and denigrate the lives of hardworking Minnesotans. It’s shameful Twin Cities liberals like Ilhan Omar and East Coast elites like AOC are trying to ram their out-of-touch views into the lives of Minnesota working families. It really makes you wonder why so many of them are trying to stand in the way of working Minnesotans and those who appreciate the dignity of having a job and going to work each day.

World Watching Weak Leadership by Biden in Afghanistan

As the world is watching Afghanistan unravel live on TV, we are reminded that weak leadership always results in less security. It’s unconscionable for the Biden-Harris administration to refuse to commit to safely evacuating all of our Americans out of Afghanistan. It is unacceptable, and it’s unAmerican. As the state of Afghanistan turned into chaos, the Biden-Harris administration could not guarantee safe passage for all Americans being forced to hide in Afghanistan because, simply, they had no plan. As a husband whose wife served overseas, I can only imagine what our troops and their families were feeling. The failure to lead by this administration is deeply disturbing. Great News in Our Battle to Protect the Unborn

As a champion for life, I’m sure you, like me, were pleased this week to see the U.S. Supreme Court uphold the “Texas Heartbeat Act,” prohibiting abortions in Texas if the doctor detects a fetal heartbeat. It was gratifying to see Republicans and Democrats work together in Texas to get this legislation passed and I’m pleased the High Court upheld the law. The decision gives all of us advocating for the rights of the unborn hope in the never ending battle to protect life. To read more about the Texas Heartbeat Act, click here.

Miners, manufacturers, and hardworking Minnesotans from all walks of skilled labor know that I have their backs. On Labor Day and every day, I am proud to be an independent voice for them. As a former union president, I was honored to receive so many endorsements last year from labor and skilled workers, including the Local 49ers, Carpenters, Teamsters 320, Ironworkers 512, the Minnesota Pipe Trades Association and United Association Local 11, Painters and Allied Trades, and LIUNA.
