Center for Reproductive Rights

Team,

I know you share my outrage about last night's news that the U.S. Supreme Court denied our emergency request to block Texas's radical abortion ban.

We will continue to fight in the courts on behalf of our clients in this Texas case—including Whole Woman's Health—and in other states that will inevitably follow Texas's lead. At the same time, it's imperative that Congress take immediate action for the future of abortion rights in the United States. And, today, the House of Representatives has announced they will do just that. Speaker Nancy Pelosi has called for a vote on the Women's Health Protection Act the week of September 20th.

We need abortion access to be protected at the federal level—we need the Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA). Call on your member of Congress to vote for the Women’s Health Protection Act and to stand with us in the fight for abortion access for all.

Our rights simply cannot wait—send a message to your members of Congress RIGHT NOW.

We're on it. You can count on us to fight on all fronts, and we are grateful to have you with us.

In solidarity,

Jackie Blank
Federal Legislative Strategist and Women's Health Protection Act Campaign Manager

Dear team,

Tonight, the U.S. Supreme Court denied our emergency request to block Texas' radical new abortion ban.

The law bans abortion after just six weeks of pregnancy—before many even know they're pregnant. As a result of today's ruling, the law will take effect and force almost all legal abortion in Texas to come to an abrupt stop.

We are doubling down on our efforts to restore access to abortion care across the state in partnership with our client, Whole Woman's Health, one of the leading plaintiffs in our case challenging Texas' abortion ban.

People have the right to make their own health care decisions without interference from politicians—and this law is a full-scale assault on patients, their health care providers, and their support systems. This is a grim day for the people of Texas and our country as a whole.

You can learn more about the critical work Whole Woman's Health Alliance is doing to provide the care Texans deserve while helping to fight this law here.

Thank you for standing with us in the fight for access to safe, legal abortion care everywhere. Follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for the latest updates on the case.
