The NRA is doing what they do best: Running away.

If the NRA is good at anything, John, it’s running away.
ICYMI, the NRA’s annual convention in Houston, TX was scheduled to start tomorrow, and like NRA conventions of the past, it was sure to be a display of corrupt power and gun glorification. I should add that we were planning to make the convention very, very special 🤡.
Now they’re trying to save face by cancelling their 150th anniversary convention under the guise of public health, but we know that they’re hypocrites who can’t take what they dish out. So we’re rallying together to tell them: Not one more year.

At this point, the NRA and their puppet politicians in Congress are well-practiced at running away from accountability. They’ve given us more examples than we can count, like when...

*Wayne LaPierre fled to a friend’s luxury yacht to escape public outrage over mass shootings, claiming “this [yacht] was the one place that I hope could feel safe.” Must be nice, Wayne.
*While publicly offering “thoughts and prayers” to the families of Sandy Hook victims, NRA leaders actively peddled conspiracy theories and encouraged personal, targeted harassment of those families.
*The whole damn NRA tried to leave New York and escape to Texas after 👑 Letitia James called their bluff and threw out their bogus bankruptcy case. Maybe they wouldn’t be in financial trouble if member dues weren’t paying for LaPierre’s vacations and designer wardrobe.

...which brings us full circle. As soon as their beloved gun manufacturers backed out and there was no longer a financial incentive for them, this “nonprofit” cancelled their convention. The NRA is on its last leg and on a downward spiral toward total destruction.
But just because there’s no longer a convention to protest, doesn’t mean we’re backing down. Here’s our message to them:

A famous NRA convention anthem asserts, "I'll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.” Fortunately for us, the NRA may just be self-imploding and you can bet we -- you, March For Our Lives, and the thousands of families who’ve been impacted by gun violence -- will be there when they meet their demise.
Good riddance!
