Over the past few weeks, thousands of Afghan refugees have arrived in the DMV area and more are expected to arrive, fleeing from tragedies that are a direct result of American imperialism. Alongside various groups in our community, we’re organizing to support our neighbors.

We support Afghanistan and to assist Afghans in settling into the US, we are collecting donations as a form of material solidarity. Please bring any of the supplies listed in the graphic below to Malcolm X Park (near the statue) on Sunday, September 5 from 12-2pm. We’re also demanding that Biden and Congress immediately take steps to evacuate Afghans, increase refugee quotas and expedite immigration, halt drone strikes (which have already killed civilians), and more.
