Dancers on the Move: Transitions to New Careers


Wednesday, September 15, 10 am PT

In this speaker series, Career Transition For Dancers scholarship winners describe their journeys from performance to three career arenas: Health and Wellness, Education, and Arts Leadership and Business. With the premise that once a dancer always a dancer, our speakers will report on their discovery of how their dance skills and experience have informed their current fields of influence.

 


The Career Center

The Career Center offers a comprehensive suite of online programs and services that help entertainment industry and performing arts professionals to identify and find sideline work and discover new careers outside the industry.

Get started by attending The Career Center Orientation (Monday* or Thursday* session) to enroll in the career services offered. Once you've done that, you can enroll in workshops including Career Journey and Social Networking.

Additional workshops include LinkedIn Suite for Entertainment, Units 1-3*, How to Job Search During a Pandemic, Part 1* and Part 2.

Financial Wellness online workshops and seminars increase your financial knowledge and help you learn the tools and skills to support lifelong financial health and stability.

Take Budgeting Nuts & Bolts on Tuesdays*, proudly sponsored by Actors Federal Credit Union, and Thursdays to learn the basics of financial wellness.

The Actors Fund offers personalized health insurance counseling and enrollment support via Entertainment Health Insurance Solutions, referrals to health care resources, seminars on how to best care for yourself and more.

With respect and understanding, our professional social workers offer our community help to address a wide array of challenges via online and phone counseling and support groups, education and practical help—completely free of charge.
