Aaron Ford for Attorney General

Bad news, folks.

This week, one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country just went into effect in Texas.

This extreme "heartbeat" bill bans abortion as early as six weeks into a pregnancy — before most people even know they're pregnant — with no exceptions for rape or incest. Furthermore, it also allows private citizens to sue any health care provider or anyone who helps people access abortion including driving a friend to the clinic.

Make no mistake: this bill is a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade and a blatant attack on a person's right to choose.

But I won't stand idly by. As Attorney general, I will always defend access to safe and legal abortion and protect bodily autonomy for all. Now more than ever, we must renew our commitment to the fight for reproductive justice.

I plan to protect reproductive rights with all that I have. But in the face of this coordinated attack on reproductive care, I need grassroots supporters like you to join me in speaking up. Can you add your name next to mine urging Congress to pass federal legislation protecting Roe v. Wade and the right to choose?

Emboldened by Donald Trump's 6-3 Supreme Court conservative majority, this is just another horrific example of anti-choice politicians across the country pushing just how far they can challenge reproductive rights.

What's happening in Texas affects all of us. If this bill stands, you bet other states will soon follow their lead. And the attacks on reproductive freedom aren't just coming out of Texas — they are being waged by out-of-touch politicians right here in Nevada, too.

That's why I’m prepared to fight to protect reproductive rights for our most vulnerable communities, but I need you with me, friend. Will you add your name and show your support for defending reproductive freedom in our country?

Thanks for being in this fight,

Aaron D. Ford
